Holy crap

It's been almost 2 months since I blogged last? Geez. Since last time I've written my exams, finsihed my resident project, gotten unbelievable drunk, travelled to Cancun, made it back alive, dealt with annoying patients, and thought about life.

People ask me every day what I plan on doing after I graduate, to which my short answer is, "I don't know". Then usually I get a confused look as if to say, "Girl, why don't you have your life in order? Shouldn't you be married, have kids, and have a practice set up alreadY?" But really, I don't care. Also, patients in my clinic still ask me if when I'm done will I choose to practice family medicine. Sometimes I want to say, "As opposed to......?"

This is what I really want to say: "Actually, I was thinking about joining the circus. Working in this family medicine clinic, as a family medicine resident for the last 2 years, really made me realize how much I don't like practicing family medicine."

Sum Ting Wong?

I thought about running away to joint the circus but I didnt really know what my gimmick would be. Im not the bearded lady, and Im not the shortest man alive, so I dont think I would be very successful.

People as me the same question all of the time and I give them the same answer, "I dont know". Usually my follow up to whatever statement they have to that is "I just want to be happy", but apparently thats not a 'good enough' answer or goal in life for most people. If we arent happy then whats the point of anything else.
