Gotta love the internet. And digital cameras
So I've had a little bit of trouble mailing a Christmas card to my former roommate, who now lives in Boston. He has been a little out of the picture for the while, being really busy with work. I was writing all of my Christmas cards and I realized that I didn't have his address anymore. I thought of calling him, but I knew he wasn't going to be in town that weekend. So I e-mailed him instead and just contemplated sending the card to his parents' house. I had to look up their address on Canada411 and since they live in a small town I was pretty sure that I had the right one. Well, I had the envelope all written out, stamp on it ready to go, and I kind of forgot about it on the kitchen table for a few days.
The day I was going to mail it (mind you, this was ON Christmas day, which was on the weekend of course), I got an e-mail from him telling me what his current address was and that he had actually just been to his parents' house for Christmas (why didn't I mail it earlier?!). So....I had to re-write the envelope and transfer the postage. Then I carried the card around in my purse for a day waiting for the opportunity to mail it. Well, today I finally mailed it in the box on my street. But as SOON as the envelope left my fingers I realized that I didn't have enough postage.....cause I was now mailing the card to the States. Now it's sitting in the box and will probably not make its way back to me for another couple of days. I think it's a sign that this card just should not be mailed.
On another note, if you have been reading my blog you would have read a post about a sign I passed by while driving through Mennonite country. I have indeed confirmed that the picture is NOT of an octopus, but of a baby (of course). See for yourself:

Okay....so it DOES look like a baby, but I still believe that it could look like an octopus at high speeds. Speaking of speed, I had to actually slow down on the highway to get this picture:

Look how close I was with the trip meter! And guess how old my car is? 13 years. No, the dials didn't go all the way around. That really is 88888 kms. Booyah.
