Flora and Fauna...Actually, Just Fauna

It took about a week to realize that we don't have 8 fish...we have 7. It just occurred to me one day....and I've been feeding them every day for about....5 months.

Anyways....

A ladybug just flew onto my pillow (yes I am typing in bed). It startled the heck out of me...and normally I love LOVE ladybugs, but....why oh why do they have to fly around? I think that is one of the creepiest things. Can't lady bugs just crawl around? And what are they doing flying around in my BEDROOM?? Last year I came home for holiday from school and I looked at my carpet by my window and there were about 10-15 dead ladybugs there....EWWWWW

Addendum

So I figured out what was wrong with the advance seat selection. I finally broke down and called a reservation agent. She told me ....oh yeah....they only have airport check in now...........

WHAT!!

PFF!!

I also reserved a RobertQ bus online and ....my confirmation page just vanished before I could print it out or write the confirmation number. So I had to call them to get the number. So in the last few weeks I've gone online to facilitate my travel bookings, and ultimately had to go the telephone route just to fix the screw ups of the internet.

In a totally unrelated note.

I have my cranky pants on.

Music is my aeroplane

Quick, who sings that?

I am going on a trip to Vancouver and L.A. Generally I would rather book everything online and not have to talk to anyone....but it is not always the most reliable and reassuring way to buy things.

I had just booked a flight on air canada from YVR to LAX and the far was a "Tango Plus" fare, which supposedly entitles me to choose my seat in advance for free. As soon as I had made my purchase, I saw the link to choose my seat. So I clicked on that link and the next page that came up was a note that said, "Sorry! Your reservation has been confirmed. Any further questions can be directed to Customer Care."

Huh??

So I called their website assistance and explained to them that I had purchased this flight and that it screwed up when I went to choose my seat.

The woman proceeded to tell me to refresh the the page. Even though I had already logged out in order to find out the phone number to call. Then I said well I should be able to pick my seat since it's free. She then insisted that with Tango Plus you have to pay to choose your seat. So I decided to check it out...."Hmm...are you sure? I thought only regular Tango meant you had to pay for your seat selection"

"No...here let me show you"

[pause]

"Okay let me just load up the website"

[pause]

"Okay..just enter any initial and final destination. ..... Now click search....now click on the link to Tango Plus....now read what it says under the description"

[I've been on that page for 3 minutes already]

"Now what does it say?"

Me: "Tango Plus.....Advance Seat Selection: Complementary"

[pause]
[pause]

"Oh I'm sorry ma'am"

"So.....can you help me?"

"No, you'll have to speak to a reservation agent"

Geez.

So I call the reservation agent and all I get is a voice mail saying that new bookings and changes to bookings will result in a cost of $15.

I think I'll just take my chances with the seat.

More fishy drama

I can't believe my dad actually put our siamese fish together. For the sake of art too. He was trying to take a picture of them fighting and now they both have missing fins. Poor fishies.

Dad: "Want to see them fight again?"

Me: "NOOooooooooooooo"

And then that night, I had a dream that the fish were trying to jump out of their bowls...and one managed to escape and was flopping all over my neck. I was sooooo grossed out.

Good days and bad days

Some dinnertime conversation revolved around our Siamese fighting fish. My dad bought yet another one, and so now we have a total of 8 fish, all in their own little bowls. He just likes getting new colourful ones because he doesn't like to look at the older ones anymore. My dad always jokes about flushing the old ones down the toilet.

So tonight my sister asked if he was going to flush the old ones down the toilet. My dad asked, "What do you think?"

My sister replied, "Well how about I flush you guys down the toilet when you get old?" (I have a weird feeling I've blogged about this before but too lazy to check).

My dad's response: "You're going to need a bigger toilet to flush Mom."

On another note, the end of my evening did not go so well. I found out that my friend went to New York for 6 days and didn't even tell me. I had to find out from her mother when I called her house this evening. Actually, I guess I shouldn't be mad. I go out of town all the time and never tell her, but never for more than a few days at a time. I guess that's the way things have been going lately...I hardly talk to my friends anymore, and the ones I do talk to are over MSN because they don't live in the same city as me. Maybe I'm the one being antisocial. If there were actually more things to do around here maybe I'd enjoy leaving the house. Even one of my best friends mentioned to me today that it's really hard being my friend and that it takes a lot of effort. Well I must be doing something wrong if you have to try to be my friend. Granted, he lives across the country, but I feel like I've been really ignorant lately.

And I think this is one of the most boring posts I've ever written.

Must end on a good note:
My sister is home for Spring Break and it's her birthday in 3 days. We're going to get manicures. At least she is and I'll just pay for it. We are also getting massages this week, although on separate days haha.

Does anybody (in Canada) find this weird:

22 Degrees in Toronto??? Must be all that smog. But wait! I refreshed the page and look what happened then:

High of 40 degrees?! Man...Google is messed up. Actually, the first time I logged on it said it was -27 degrees in Vancouver. As if that's EVER happened.
