I stand corrected...

I guess you don't suck after all. I mean, if you are actually reading this blog then you obviously can't suck. The people who suck are those who throw things at you from passing car windows while yelling racist slurs, or who ask you for change because they are so dying of hunger but reject fresh bagels because they're "allergic to bread"...or...wow I could go on forever.

...to be continued.

Weird dreams

I'm sitting here, just put my 'thinking cap' on....actually it's a winter hat. I thought it would make me think a little clearer tonight. I've also got some tunes going to keep my brain stimulated while I churn out this essay. Writing about yourself if not the easiest task in the world. Apparently writing about myself in a blog isn't so bad haha.

Last week was a total fiasco week. Thought I had lost a cheque for $150, turned my room upside down looking for it, wasted a couple nights of good essay writing time....and of course I found it eventually when I was least expecting it. Silly me :) And on the same day I found out that I got a pretty nice student grant from U of T! woohoo! That was a great day. On the weekend I went home to visit my parents. It was fun...got to spend some quality time with them. I think they really want me to come home - they even bribed me with a car. We'll see if I make it back there. Western has a knack of not wanting me...so....who knows.

My quest to win at McDonald's monopoly has failed me again...I've never been so close to winning anything for this contest until now. I guess just the sheer act of pigging out on McDonald's has increased my chances haha. Yesterday I bought a large diet coke and a cheeseburger and it cost me $3.75! I remember the days when a cheeseburger was 89 cents. Miss those days. Then again, those were the days of scrunchies and rolled up pant cuffs....

I've come to the realization that nobody reads my blog, so I suppose I could say anything I want about anybody and no one would find out haha.

You suck.

Self-destructive behaviour

I think the store H&M has brought me to a whole new level of shopping destruction. It's a store with largely affordable clothes, so I am willing to spend just a little more to get the one nice piece....even though I rarely need it. Yesterday I went in there to see if they had a pair of pants in a different colour than the ones I already have. I don't usually buy in multiples, but I've been looking for a nice pair of corduroy pants for about 3 years. These ones actually fit pretty well, and are of good quality. Not to worry that they shrunk when i washed them so they are a bit ass-hugging now. That in mind, I decided to go up a size for my second pair. Which may or may not be a good idea, cause every pair of pants is different. These ones might not shrink.

As I was there, I decided to buy a new top to go out in to match my new favourite pair of BCBG sandals (gold). Of course I couldn't find anything, and ended up buying instead a fuschia velvet blazer (eek.). The jury's still out on whether that thing actually fits me, but I took the tag off and wore it already so I can't return it. I bought it because I was going out last night and I needed a stylish, yet warmish jacket to wear. Turns out last night was a bust anyways. Stood in line for 30 minutes at some new place called Lot 332. Waited at the front of the line, 5 ppl back, for about 10 minutes while watching a limo full of random people come in and bypass the line. In fact, the ONLY people getting into the club were random walk ups....I think the guest list line was larger than the regular line - and they weren't getting in either. So my friend and I decided we were going to head to Inside, with a small detour to Starbucks and another friend's apartment. I said, "you know, if we go to his place to pick him up we are never leaving right?". Right. 3 hours later......it's three guys playing Halo 2 and me sleeping on the bed. What a waste of a night! And a waste of a killer outfit that no one ever got to see!

Nonetheless, after a night of doing nothing, I am still exhausted. Maybe it's nap time....

What happened to my second post?

OK again. I repeat. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE WHO CHOOSE TO SPELL INCORRECTLY ON PURPOSE?????????

What the....

I am currently on an elective in family medicine up at North York. My supervisor is nice, but she likes to play the, "OK, what am I thinking?" game., and in such a short time with her, I haven't quite caught on yet. Just dreading my evaluation tomorrow....should be painful.

On my way to work, I was walking uphill and someone whistled at me from their car. I don't know who it was, because I didn't look, but it was really weird. I mean....at 9 am? And it got me thinking....was it a real whistle or a mock whistle?? Did I have toilet paper stuck to my shoe? Something written on my face?

Today's patients were real trouble. First of all, the practice is 85% Hungarian. So....many of the patients can't communicate very well with me or start speaking Hungarian with the "real" story as soon as the doctor enters the room. Dr. Z has told her secretary repeatedly to ask the patients coming in if they speak English or not...so when I go to get a patient I am under the assumption that they speak it. Riiiiiight. This morning, the secretary asked a patient if I could see her before the doctor. I took her into the examining room and as soon as I started talking, she said "NO ENGLISH"....I said, do you understand English at least? And she nodded, but when I started talking, she said "NO ENGLISH". So I took her blood pressure and left.

Another woman, who had agreed to see me, was extremely rude to me after I started talking to her, because other than renewing her Percocets, I was not worthy of her conversation. She said "I CAN'T TALK TO YOU ABOUT MY PROBLEMS!"...I tried a couple of times, but she just cut me off. So I said..."ok...." and got up and left. If she can be rude, so can I....I mean, what did she think? Do I look like I can speak Hungarian? I have learned one word of Hungarian in 10 days.

Whew. Day's over....or so I thought. 6pm. I'm off to my volunteering job (feeding little kitties at the Humane Society). My normal route is to go from the Leslie station to Sheppard, to Queen, then use a transfer to take the Queen streetcar. The whole trip takes about an hour.....so I was shocked when I got the "Oh, c'mon!" look from the streetcar driver as he looked at my transfer, taken from Leslie....I mean, if he didn't approve of my transfer he should have said something...not given me a dirty look. It's not like I wandered off to the mall for a while before going on the streetcar. I got the transfer at 6:09....and when I got out of the Queen Subway station I had JUST missed the streetcar...so I went across the street and got some money out and a hot choco from Tim Horton's.....then I got on the next streetcar....what's wrong with that?? Now I seriously thought I had something written on my face or something.

And that was my day.
